Gareth:

Travel has been my way of life for more than 16 years. Working aboard yachts, my career has carried me across oceans and into some of the world’s most extraordinary corners. Along the way, I learned to seek out what lies beyond the guidebook, the rare and hidden experiences that make a journey unforgettable.

Adventure has always been the thread running through it all. From winter mountaineering to leaping from planes, or crossing countries by bike, I have sought out challenges that test both endurance and curiosity. I specialise in methodical planning and precision when it comes to adventure, but I am just as ready to say yes when an opportunity appears (like running the Barcelona Marathon on almost no training).

Spending much of my life away from home has also taught me how to stay fit without the routine comforts of a gym. Whether it is running through unfamiliar streets, hiking before sunrise, or turning a quiet stretch of dock into a training ground, I have learned to make movement part of the journey itself.

This mix of professional travel, personal adventure, and on-the-go fitness has given me a unique perspective. I enjoy the well-trodden routes, but I am always searching for the trail that veers away, the place where the map fades. Through this space, I share those moments, the big journeys and the quiet discoveries, so others can find inspiration to explore with the same spirit.

Laura:

Travel has always been part of Laura’s story. Her early career taking her across continents, and later she setting out to make her way around the world, a journey only paused when Covid brought global travel to a halt.

With a background in anthropology, Laura believes that travel is more than just ticking of bucket list places, but about understanding the people and cultures that shape them. Immersing herself in the rhythms, traditions, and daily life of a place is what makes each journey meaningful.

When the world stood still, Laura chose a new direction and retrained as a teacher, building a career rooted in purpose. Today she devotes her free time to travel, seeking out adventures that balance movement with cultural discovery, whether it is hiking into remote regions, wandering through hidden corners of a city, or sharing a meal in a family kitchen.

For Laura, exploration is about connection, perspective, and the stories that make the world feel alive.
